Our Defender Roof-Net has been designed to utilise the dead space within the ceiling of your Land Rover to provide a neat and unobtrusive way of creating storage for ‘soft’ lightweight items such as sleeping bags, pillows and jackets.
Fitting kit includes- 6 x footman loops and 12 x screw fasteners & 2 x Velcro cinch straps.
See Resources tab below for dimensions. Each roof net is made from a rigid, non-elasticated, nylon mesh netting, bound with 25mm webbing. When not in use the roof net can be left in place without it compromising rearward vision. The net can be removed completely in seconds. The rear attachment points attach to the grab handles above the Defender rear door. If your Defender doesn’t have the grab-handles installed above the rear door then each net comes supplied with a fitting kit that includes extra footman loops that can be screwed into the internal gutter. The front of the Defender roof net attaches via footman loops that are screwed into the strengthening ribs in the roof where the headlining sections join/overlap. On a 90, this is behind the front seats. On a 110 this is where the rear and centre headlining sections join.D-Rings sewn centrally into the front and back of the net create a couple of additional attachment points that can be secured with the Velcro cinch-straps supplied with each net. Fitting is optional but the cinch-straps help ‘take up the slack’ in the centre of the net and provide some extra load security. When mounted in a Defender 90, the roof net will also double-up as a vertical loadspace divider to keep wandering pets out of the front of your vehicle. Simply detach the rear straps and let the net hang down. Fixing additional footman loops to the area behind the seats/cubby box will create another attachment point for the net. Additional footman loops can be purchased here.

How much weight will the roof-net hold?
We don’t supply a weight rating for the net. It’s a storage net that is secured using footman loops and/or the factory grab-handles. We therefore recommend you don’t try carrying an anvil in the roof net and instead stick to lightweight items that don’t have the potential to kill you.
Will it restrict headroom for back seat passengers?
Hanging something from the roof of your vehicle directly above the rear seats WILL reduce the amount of headroom in the back of your vehicle.
