The ARB-manufactured assistant safely controls the opening speed and reduces the effort required to close it.

The passenger side damper assists in slowly lowering the tailgate which, once open, can be released and continue lowering without assistance in a controlled manner. On the driver's side the damper helps close the tailgate; facilitating and achieving lifting with a simple movement with and only one hand.
