Conceptualised years ago, the idea was to have a tent that would set itself up, and pack itself down at the touch of a button. No fuss, no interaction, and premium in finish; it’s all about the finer details with the Altitude.

Although simple in ideology, bringing this to reality would be a tough task for the ARB specialised Engineering Team.

PUSH-BUTTON ACTIVATED

Setting up and packing down has never been so easy – one push and you’re good to go. Pressing the button at either side of the tent will activate the actuators, completing the process in a minute and giving you time to focus on the rest of the campsite.

ARB SMARTFOLD™ HINGE TECHNOLOGY

ARB’s SmartFold™ hinge technology has been included on each side of the tent to enfold the canvas when closing, meaning no manual interaction is required. Introducing the technology to the camping industry, ARB have broken ground and eliminated a common pain point among roof top tent owners.

TESTED ELECTRONIC ACTUATORS

Tried and tested electronic actuators are at either end of the tent, lifting and closing the tent easily at the push of a button.

HAND LAYOUT FIBREGLASS MOULD

The hand layout fibreglass mould of the Altitude is crafted for both top and bottom shells to ensure every contour is perfect and purposeful. The shape has been designed to integrate with the look of 4WD’s, contrasting most larger tents on the market with a block-style look.

TWO-TONE GREY GEL COAT

The shell itself is not painted, rather the natural colour of the gel coat has been utilised to increase durability.

LARGER & DEEPER STEPS

Each step on the ladder is larger and deeper than other tent ladders, giving users comfort when accessing their bed for the night.

STURDY HANDRAIL

Comfort, convenience and safety are major features of the Altitude; and the ladder is no different-being the only tent on the market that features a handrail for easier access.

PURPOSE-BUILT MOUNT WITH STEP & AREA LIGHTING

The ladder safely hooks on a purpose-built mount, giving a sturdy and easy-to-use foundation for the ladder. A downlight is included on the mount which beams amber and white lighting over the steps to increase your accessibility and safety at night.

HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE

The ends of the ladder are extendable, providing a bit of extra height for taller vehicles.

INTERNALLY STORED

The ladder is internally stored in the roof of the tent, removing the need to sacrifice tub or cargo space to accommodate for a bulky ladder.

70MM THICK MATTRESS

Comfort has been the focus around sleeping in this premium tent, housing a 70mm thick mattress for plush cushioning when getting a good night’s rest.

INTERNAL BEDDING STORAGE

The Altitude’s roof liner has been moulded to accommodate for heavy-duty blankets and pillows, giving it the ability to be packed down with all bedding inside.

STORAGE & NETTING POCKETS

The canvas has an array of pockets sewn into it. Each corner of the Altitude has a drink bottle holder, phone pocket, and also an accessory pocket to house everything needed throughout the night. Netting pockets have also been included to help store these items away when packing up and when not in use.

380GSM CANVAS MATERIAL

Surrounded by the best in heavy-duty canvas available, the Altitude’s 380gsm fabric is designed to go the distance. Breathable and strong, the 380gsm fabric was selected to provide Altitude with tough walls for protection and to provide the conditions for a good night’s sleep.

360 DEGREE PANORAMIC VIEWS

Each corner and door unzip, providing 360-degree panoramic views and giving a complete oversight of the surroundings when you’re out camping.

ALUMINIUM ROOF RAILS

The Altitude is cargo and accessory friendly, with the ability to store items on top utilising in-built aluminium rails with integrated T slots.

BAR & RACK COMPATIBLE

For a fuller line of rack, as well as equipping a wider range of accessories and cargo, Altitude is able to have a crossbar kit equipped.

20KG DYNAMIC LOAD

With a load capacity of 20kg, functionality of the tent is unhindered with the added weight- making carrying options endless.

BRACKET CLAMP SYSTEM

Included with the tent is a bracket clamp system, which will work well with ARB’s signature BASE Rack, as well as most roof racks on the market

VEHICLE SPECIFIC BLADES

Vehicle specific blades have been developed to allow wagon owners to equip the Altitude straight to the roof of their vehicle and reduce the roof load without the presence of a roof rack.

ANDERSON PLUG CONNECTION

Utilising an Anderson plug connection from the vehicle’s battery, users can either choose to hardwire this in straight from the battery, or plug it into a 12V Anderson plug.

POWER ISOLATION

Engineers have also taken into account the common problem of draining the battery when not in use. By isolating the power when closing, interior power is turned off giving you peace of mind when worrying if you left a light on.

TWO-WAY MULTI-SPEED FAN

Climate control is headed by a two-way multi-speed fan that’s in-built to the roof of the Altitude, designed to be set higher or lower, as well as in or out depending on the climate.

NTERNAL LIGHTING

The roof of the Altitude surrounded by lighting that comes in both amber and white, making later hour living an ease.

CHARGING & MOUNTING OPTIONS

Dual USB sockets are included, allowing for easy charging of phones and tablets using the magnetic suction cup mount. This mount allows for easy viewing whilst charging your devices and taking in the amazing views the Altitude provides.

INTERNAL CONTROL BOX

With safety front of mind, the Altitude features an internal control box. From this interface, users can activate the failsafe before bed to isolate the power and prevent the tent being accessed by others. The control box also features a cigarette socket for powering other devices, as well as a USB C socket for powering more modern-day devices.

MANUAL OVERRIDE SYSTEM

The Altitude has been heavily tested in every aspect; especially the actuator arm mechanism. In the unlikely case of an emergency, a manual override system has been included to control the tents movement if the electrical fails.

MANUAL LOCKING

The Altitude includes one manual lock on either side of the tent for added security. Once closed, simply turn the locks to fix the tent in place and turn the key before you head on the road.

DRAINAGE POINTS

Drainage points have been included in each corner of the base to ensure that even in heavy rain, the base of the Altitude doesn’t carry water. Whilst traveling, a grommet on each corner blocks each drainage hole and prevents any dust from getting in whilst closed.

WIND DEFLECTOR

A wind deflector has been designed for the front of the Altitude to prevent any potential noise interference and to reduce any potential wind drag whilst equipped to your rooftop

Designing a tent that packs itself up is a dream concept, brought to reality by ARB’s specialised Engineering Team.

The Altitude’s ARB SmartFold™ hinge technology design is what makes the tent truly hands-free. The clever two-piece hinge fully enfolds the Altitude tent’s fabric within the sleeping area during closing operation. This eliminates the arduous task of manually ensuring the canvas is folded into the tent when packing up, and gives a perfect close every time.

The ladder’s steps are both larger and deeper than competitor alternatives, as well as being the only tent on the market featuring a handrail ensuring ease and safety for you and your family. Getting a good night’s rest when you’re away from your home has never been easier.

Comfort was a primary focus during the Altitude tent’s concept and design, featuring a full-size double bed and a 70mm thick mattress for plush cushioning. With convenience in mind, the Altitude’s roof liner has been moulded to accommodate for blankets and pillows to be left within the tent when packed down and acts as a second layer of insulation between the outer shell and bedding area.

Both breathable and durable, the 380gsm heavy-duty canvas is one of the strongest on market and protects occupants and ensures a no-compromise good night’s sleep. Providing a 360-degree panoramic view of your surroundings, easily achieved by simply unzipping each corner and door. The Altitude also comes with an array of purposeful storage compartments, including bed head pockets and netting attached to the roof. Each corner includes a drink bottle holder, phone pocket, and an accessory pocket to house everything needed, and at easy reach, throughout the night.

Packing in the ‘good to haves’ as well as the ‘must haves’, the Altitude’s range of 12v features ensure you won’t need to leave.

The Altitude is powered from the vehicle’s battery either via hard wire or plugged directly into a 12V Anderson plug. The cleverly-engineered power isolation feature ensures no battery draw when the Altitude tent is closed, turning off all lights and other load drawing devices once shut. Control climate through the integrated roof fan, featuring high and low speed settings, and in or out directional blow settings. The interior is illuminated with a white or ambient amber light strip along the roof edge, ensuring full visibility and comfort when the sun goes down. Dual USB sockets allow for easy charging of phones and tablets and the unique provision for magnetic or suction cup mounts enables easy viewing whilst charging your devices.

With safety front of mind, the Altitude has been heavily tested in various environments and climates.

An internal control box has been installed that includes a failsafe isolator to prevent the tent being controlled once inside, and includes a cigarette and USB C socket for even more device powering/charging options. Although being rigorously tested in various conditions, in the unlikely case of electrical failure a manual override system has been included, providing owners with peace of mind in emergency situations. The Altitude also includes a locking handle on either side of the tent – simply turn the locks to fix the tent in place and key lock before you head on the road.

Altitude is a four-season tent. ARB Engineers have included a host of premium features to keep you going – in all weather.

Designed with drainage points in each corner of the base, the Altitude ensures that during heavy rainfall the Altitude tent won’t carry water in the shell. Grommets have been installed in each corner to block the drainage holes when closed, preventing dust ingress whilst on the move. To prevent potential wind-drag and road noise, a wind deflector has been designed for the front of the Altitude.

The Altitude is cargo and accessory friendly, with the ability to store items on top, utilising in-built aluminium rails with integrated T slots.

A load capacity of 20kg allows a multitude of carrying options without scarifying functionality. The Altitude also accommodates the attachment of a crossbar kit further increasing the options of accessories and cargo that can be carried. For additional power, the purpose-engineered 120W solar panel accessory kit, installed on the Altitude’s roof, provides peace of mind when heading off grid. The best bit is that the actuators can support 20kgs to open even whilst loaded, meaning the surfboard or skis don’t have to come off to jump into bed.
